Trip to Griffith Observatory

So today I ended up going to the Griffith Observatory. I have been wanting to visit since the renovation that took place a while back. There was alot of people today, and we ended up parking about a mile away from the actual site.

The first thing that came to mind when seeing the observatory was REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE. Such an iconic movie, with James Dean, an iconic actor, that was filmed here about 60 years ago. I HAD to take a picture with the James Dean statue they had placed in his honor.

The inside of the observatory was nothing more than spectacular. I was amazed with the way the renovation turned out. It was simply stunning. We roamed around for a while and ended up buying some tickets to the Centered in the Universe show.

The show was just awesome! The imagery and info given was just great. I wondered how much I would have tripped out if I was on shrooms. Tickets were cheap too! (make sure you take a student ID, as you get in for a much cheaper price!) Kudos to the lady who narrated the show. She had an awesome voice!! Her voice alone was worth the price of admission! Seriously!

After the show we ended up heading underground to see what the majority of the renovation contained. I was blown away by the awesomeness inside. They simply did a wonderful job displaying our solar system.

I also had to take a picture with Albert Einstein as well. Just because!

Upon returning back outside, we noticed the sun setting and well the picture says it all…..

I had a great time there and I can’t wait to go back! There’s still a few more shows I want to catch and I want to go back to the underground room and explore some more!

First Aid, CPR and AED Approved

My job paid for the American Red Cross Training class earlier this month. I’ve always wanted to be certified, and now I am!

Although I kind of wish they would have given me a card instead of a certificate. It’s all the same though. In need of aid…….? Then never fear, Charlie’s here!!

Today should be a fun day. I have the day off of work and I have a few things planned. First up on my list, breakfast! Or lunch? Brunch?? Whatever!

Yesterday’s sunset was kind of awesome. I love southern California.

I’m Jesus!

I HATE when people tell me, “What if that homeless person was Jesus in disguise?!” ………. Motherfucker, what if I’M Jesus!!?

Review: Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

I went to see SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS earlier tonight. Upon hearing some of the reviews, I was expecting the film to be a complete let down. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

The story doesn’t live up to that of the original. I was never bored, but there was something the film lacked. What I can think of at the moment is that the film lacked the spark the original had. It does have a tiny tint of the dreaded sequelitis to it, but it ultimately bounces back.

The great chemistry between our two leading men, Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, is what stood out the most. There is no denying the chemistry that these two characters share. There is ultimately no need for a female love interest as their relationship can be used to fill that void. I must say that I expected a lot more from Noomi Rapace’s character. It seems they were just piggyback riding her overseas success in Sweden’s version of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, which is such a waste for someone with her talent. The villain, Professor Moriarty played perfectly by Jared Harris, was also a highlight of the film.

I must also add that it’s quite sad when Dr. Watson is the more interesting character of the two leads. Not to take away from Downey’s acting, but I was more interested and invested in Dr. Watson.

In the end, A GAME OF SHADOWS ultimately fails to deliver the thrills of the first SHERLOCK HOLMES, but it does offer its fair share of entertainment.

RATING: 3.5/5

Welcome to my world!!

Hello all!

I decided to finally take the plunge and work on my website. It may not be all fancy or amazing, but it’s mine.

I have had an idea for a project I have been wanting to do for some time now. I’m working out the details and hopefully it will be set to launch in the new year.

Now, my life may not be all that exciting, but who knows, you may find yourself enjoying my thoughts, reviews, rants and/or adventures in the world!!!!
